PPP 2013!

It's that time of the year again folks!  The Pole, Peddle, Paddle Relay race which takes place in Bend, OR.  I can't say it enough...I LOVE this weekend of the year.  I love this race!  It brings in the die-hard professional athletes to the off-the-couch beer-leaguers.  Team Ole & Lena were in full effect yet again.  We also had a co-ed team and a mens team.  I think there ended up being 20 of us that rented an amazing house in Sunriver to spend the long weekend in.
No joke...this house was fantastic.  Perfect for the kids and adults, right on the river...complete with kayaks and a paddle boat to use.
Starra and Parker enjoying "popcorn movie night".
There was even a hidden little play room filled with toys and books.  See the entrance for the kids?
 Night before the race...planning logistics.
As we were driving up to the mountain to start the race it started snowing...and got cold!  While we were waiting for the race to start we hunkered down in the chalet with hot chocolate and lattes.
He'll come cruising down the mounting, into a chute and off on the x-country leg!
I wasn't too sure how Asher would handle all the excitment and running/driving from leg to leg...but he was a champ and just went with the flow.
I love this pic of the tag off...check out that snow falling!
 And she's off.
We got so excited screaming out the window at Annie that my camera man Ian, forgot to take a pic until we passed her.  There she is, made it out of the snow!
There was about an 8k run that Annie did that we didn't get pictures of...but then she tagged off to Aaron for the kayak.  Down river...then back up river.  That's him in the red boat.
Made it to the end just in time to see Annie complete the sprint and cross the finish line.
Another successful race in the books!  They took 4th place...no mugs this year but a goal to beat next year!

Auntie JJ Comes to Town

My sister flew into town for a long weekend a couple weeks ago.  Parker was STOKED so say the least.  Asher doesn't quite understand yet...he'll get it soon.

First things first.  Sweet Cheeks.  Standard.
After a day drinking vino...we came home for a Thai food feast!  Parker and her good friend Alethea drew with chalk and climbed the tree...some favorite activities in our backyard.
Then we realized how old we are getting...why?  Because a day at the winery results in this.
Sleeping!  Passed out!  Down for the count!  What time was it you ask?  Oh ya, 7:30ish...maybe 8pm if your generous!
After a long/good nights sleep we showed Jaime our standard Saturday morning activity at the library, "Family Music Time".
She quickly caught on to Asher's favorite position, the football hold.
Alas Auntie JJ had to fly home, which meant things got quite again...so to cheer Parker up we had a little Tinker Bell watching session.  Check out that hair!

Marathon

How has a month flown by since the last time I was on here?!  Let's play a little catch up...

First off Asher is now 12 weeks old.  He is full of smiles, coos, screeches and laughs!  Parker is fairly obsessed with him, even more so now that she can make him smile.

At the end of April Aaron ran in the Eugene Marathon.  He did the half again for the 5th time.  I love the marathon- it is such a fun event!  A portion of the course is right in our backyard so it's really easy to see everyone at mile 3 and 6 when they come around the loop.  Our good friends Annie and Mike (along with many other friends) ran it as well.

Here's Mike and Aaron heading out the door.  This is what I call the "before" picture.

Here is Aaron at mile 3...
...and here is Annie (in neon green) right behind him running the full marathon!
Still looking happy and strong at mile 6!
And let's not forget the ever-serious Mikey!
The "after" photo wasn't too different than the "before".  I thought there would be some blood, sweat, and tears possibly.  All smiles!
